Team Members of The Gerald A. Teel Company

Gerald A. Teel, MAI, CRE, SGA
Gerald Teel graduated from Texas A& M University in 1967 and then became a pilot in the U. S. Air Force until 1972. He began his real estate career in Houston at that time and has more than thirty years experience in appraisal and brokerage work. Mr. Teel holds the MAI, SRPA and CRE designations. His past professional Officer Positions in the Appraisal Institute have included a member of the Board of Directors for more than 6 years, a member of the Executive Committee and chairman of the Government Relations Committee in Washington D.C., past President of local Houston Chapters of the Appraisal Institute and Society of Real Estate Appraisers. In addition, Mr. Teel has been a past president of the Gulf Coast Chapter of The Counselors of Real Estate and chairman of the Commercial Investment Division for the Houston Board of Realtors.

Mr. Teel has been an Instructor in Appraisal Institute courses for Capitalization Theory and Techniques for more than 20 years and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice for more than 10 years. He has served as an expert witness in various courts in more than 7 states. He is currently president of the Gerald A. Teel Company and coordinates the appraisals on all types of development projects, including golf courses and health care facilities as well as multi-family properties and vacant land. The Gerald A. Teel Company completes appraisals on more than 350 properties throughout the South and Southwest United States on an annual basis.

Mr. Teel also serves on the Board of Directors for Faith In Practice, a medical mission to Guatemala, the Brazos Valley Bank in College Station and the Hudson Forest Home Owners Association. [resume]

Chris Lantz began his appraisal career in 1990 and joined The Gerald A. Teel Company in 1998. His experience includes expertise in a wide range of multi-family valuations, including student housing, LIHTC, conventional, Section 8, and other rent-restricted programs. Other property types appraised include office, retail, restaurant, hotels, industrial, subdivisions, land, and special-purpose properties. Specific properties appraised include Las Cimas office in Austin, a Burger King portfolio in Texas, Hilton Hotel & Conference Center in College Station, Sun Bowl stadium in El Paso, and student housing facilities throughout Texas and in Michigan. Mr. Treadway has experience in building homes, developing retail properties and tenant representation. He is HUD certified and has substantial experience with Low Income Housing Tax Credit properties, Section 8 Housing, and a variety of HUD loan programs such as the 223(f), 221(d)4, and 207(m). He also consults in the feasibility of apartments, with additional experience appraising subdivisions, large or small-scale retail, and office buildings. [resume]

Michael Divin began his appraisal career in 1984 and joined The Gerald A. Teel Company in 1997. His experience includes expertise in a wide range of multi-family valuations, including student housing, conventional, LIHTC, Section 8, and other rent-restricted programs. Other property types appraised include office, retail, restaurant, hotels, industrial, subdivisions, land, and special-purpose properties. Most recently, his primary focus has been in the medical industry having appraised several dozen free-standing ambulatory surgery centers (ASC's), single-tenant and multi-tenant medical office buildings, as well as hospitals as either real estate only or as "going-concern" across the United States. Properties have been appraised throughout Texas, Louisiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Missouri, Florida, New Mexico, South Dakota, California, Montana, W. Virginia, and Alabama. [resume]

Steve Rodman has been actively engaged in the consulting and appraisal of commercial real estate for approximately 20 years. His primary area of concentration has been in valuation and portfolio analysis of investment grade real estate, due diligence and litigation support. His background includes experience in research, portfolio strategy, appraisal, market assessment, acquisition and deposition analysis, internal control assessment, lease analysis and transaction structuring, as well as analyzing real estate acquisitions and portfolio management. He has performed valuation and consulting for government agencies, institutional and private investors in area of loan workout, turnaround consulting and pricing of performing, non-performing and sub-performing assets, including whole loans and REO of failed institutions, as well as mortgage loan underwriting, mortgage ratings, and REIT formations. He has completed consulting assignments for major corporations and real estate firms involving asset acquisition, disposition strategies, due diligence analysis and derived investment value, as well as litigation support and analysis, including valuation and due diligence for bankruptcy and divorce proceedings and reorganization plans. Burke Purdie began his appraisal career in 1998 and joined The Gerald A. Teel Company in 2004. His appraisal experience includes industrial, office, retail, multi-family residential, restaurant, hotel, subdivision, vacant land and special-purpose properties located throughout Texas and Louisiana. Prior to entering the appraisal business, Mr. Purdie was employed within the multi-family residential property management business with Metro National Corporation and Lincoln Property Company. Jason M. Mushinski began his appraisal career in 2002 and joined The Gerald A. Teel Company in August 2003. Prior to joining the Gerald A. Teel he conducted fee simple appraisals on single-family housing units, evaluated property for market value, and analyze real estate market data throughout the Houston Metropolitan areas and surrounding counties. More recently, Mr. Mushinski has focused on eminent domain valuation and consulting assignments. He has completed assignments for banks, law firms, brokerage and insurance companies and various government agencies for the purpose of condemnation, foreclosure, acquisition, disposition, investment analysis, and portfolio management. Jack Taylor began his appraisal career in 1985 and joined The Gerald A. Teel Company in 1988. Mr. Taylor is a MAI (Member of the Appraisal Institute) and a CCIM (Certified Investment Member of The CCIM Institute). His experience includes expertise in a wide range of commercial property valuations including multi-family, office, retail, restaurant, industrial, subdivisions, land, and special-purpose properties.
